When to Talk to Recruiters

Dilemma: Friends have told me it’s good to get a head start on talking to recruiters now, but recruiters tend to assume I want a job tomorrow. However, I’m not seriously looking for one until I meet almost all the requirements (save the ethics requirement, maybe) for getting a CPA license in December (if my last section goes well). I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. What should I do?

It doesn't hurt to start talking to them now. I have been talking to them consistently. Using recruiters in my opinion is the opposite. It is a long term process. I have been working with one for over a year and have had two potential interviews. I am hopeful that once I am licensed in the next few weeks I will have more success.

I really don't think it hurts to try.
