I just had an interview yesterday and I was wondering when is the appropriate time to follow up.
I had an interview with two different staff, but both failed to mention when they would let me know about their decision. I was at fault too, since I failed to ask them. I ended up asking other questions. I have no idea why this has slipped my mind. I’m starting to feel like it’s a bad sign they didn’t mention the next step. I really love this opportunity and I thought the interview went pretty well. I was getting feedback from them during the interview – “that’s a good example, I really enjoyed your cover letter, great that shows you’re motivated.. etc” so I thought I made a good connection with them. Of course, they could just be being nice…. and the more I think about it, the more it’s messing with my mind….
I sent both of my interviewers + the recruiter a thank you note yesterday a few hours after my interview. One of my interview replied back saying it was a pleasure to meet me and good luck. I have NO IDEA what that means… and I know no one can tell me what it means.
In this situation, I’m assuming I should wait at least a week before following up? The holidays are also coming, so I’m wondering if I should do it next Monday, or wait until after Thanksgiving has passed. And also, I should follow up with the recruiter right? I’m not sure if I should bother the staff on following up.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
