When do grades no longer matter?

I met with a friend (a placement firm recruiter) and she wants a copy of my transcripts. I have a degree and I have my CPA, I have years of experience (including military) and have been in the accounting arena for 5-6 years now. Should I send her a copy of my transcripts or simply decline positions where my grades apparently trump my CPA? (GPA is 3.3). I’m getting tired of the various and multiple ways employers and recruiters go about their proctology exams!

3.3 is not bad, why don't you just send it to her and who knows if she can get you a job?

I've never been asked for nor provided my GPA on any resume or job application.

Especially beyond your first job, GPA becomes less and less relevant.

It's odd to me that a company is asking for your transcripts unless it's normal for a certain industry that I'm not aware of.

    BEC - 82
    AUD - 65; retake Feb 2013
    FAR - April 2013
    REG - July 2013?

Grades stop mattering after you get your first job.

If you killed it in college and were Summa Cum Laude or something – leave it on your resume. If you were an average student – don't include your grades after you get your first job and don't expect an employer to ask about them.

I finished up all classes needed to write the CPA exam in July 2010 and I've worked in accounting for the past 5-6 years. I'm just not sure I want to work for someone who is placing great emphasis on my grades when I've worked my A$$ off for my CPA license…and there's little-to-no emphasis placed on that HUGE accomplishment.

I guess I equate it to interviewing with an employer who wants an “accountant” but then sends me for Word, Excel, 10-key and Alpha-numeric testing…and makes their final decision based on that. That sort of testing tells me that I probably won't be doing accounting but rather some sort of data input and word processing.
