I’ve been in tax for a couple years, but I’d like to switch to doing audit. My previous employer did not have the opportunity for an audit rotation, and where I live it seems hard to find an audit job as an associate because most employers seem to prefer hiring students straight out of college. So I’d like to pursue a Masters of Accountancy in the hopes of finally making the switch. The programs I’ve looked at seem to offer courses that are tailored toward this, and aren’t just there for students to meet the 150-credit requirement, but I’d like to know:
1. Has anyone else experienced this before? Were you still able to make the switch even without a master’s in accountancy, and if so, how?
2. For anyone who pursued a masters in accountancy, what did you like/dislike about the program?
CPA license in progress....
