    Hello everyone,

Since I am not in public accouting, I want to start preparing taxes on my own. Any advice which software is good if I have 10-15 clients. Mostly individual and some self employed. Thanks

Check out Drake Software. They are affordable and have great customer service. I've used them for years.

I'm pretty sure they give you the option to make it affordable to do just a few returns.

I was going to recommend Drake too – $285 for up to 15 returns, then $15 for each additional. Easy-to-use software that helps detect and diagnose problems; comes with all states for that same price; great customer service and support.

I used Tax Act but I haven't done it for awhile so not sure what their prices are now.

    FAR: 81 (May 2013)
    BEC: 81 (July 2013)
    REG: 83 (August 2013)
    AUD: 82 (November 2013)
    California CPA since 1/30/14

No, you don't. However, if you are going to set up a corporation and get an EIN, I would go ahead and do that before ordering the software so that everything is in the EIN and you/your SSN are protected. However, if you are planning to do things through your SSN, then you can buy the software that way, too.
