    Hello All,

To provide a brief background about me:
. I am an Indian CA and had cleared all 4 CPA exams back in 2009, license not obtained till date
. I am on dependent (non working) visa in US
. In the future, I am looking forward for a full fledged career in accounting and taxation with a small/mid-sized CPA firm

Basically, I want to brush up my skills so that in future, I can have a hands on experience in all areas of accounting/taxation which will qualify towards experience for the CPA license.

I can’t do internships as I am unauthorized to work.

Can someone please help me with on what books/topics I should study to be competent enough to prepare to work as a full fledged CPA with a small/mid-sized CPA firm. Any free/inexpensive online courses could also help me.

I would highly appreciate any guidance as I really need to re-start my rusted brain.

    Thank you in advance.

I guess my first question to you is are you up on your CPE credits? Pretty much every state requires a certain number of continuing education credits to maintain your license so I would start there. CPE academy offers quite a few free webinar courses.

If you are not looking to earn credits, you can audit online courses offered at MIT for free. Just Put “accounting” in the search box on the following page to see what they offer.
