..currently working at a regional-sized cpa firm; first job out of college. i will soon hit the 1 year mark.

i hear the longer you are out of college, the more difficult it becomes to get hired onto big 4.

i would like big 4 experience, that is a definite.

for tax, i imagine the best time to apply would be december/january?

    someone correct me on this?

how about if i want to do audit? when would be the best time to apply?

Hi! So from my experience at my university, the Big 4 recruits during September for both interns and full time hires for the next year. First and second round interviews run through October. For audit, a few full time hires start in January, a small chunk start in the summer, and the majority start in October of the next year. So to answer your question, I think you should should start reaching out to recruiters as soon as possible and be sure to have applied by early September. Hope that helps.

Never quit a job until you've already got one lined up. Then give your current boss a chance to top the salary and benefits. No dice? Jump ship.
