    Maybe we should get a weight loss group going for those who have finished the exam and need to knock off the CPA weight gain.

    Anyone else get eye twitches from staring at the monitor so frequently?

    I actually already had some weight to lose before even starting this process, so I joined TOPS around the time I started studying so I would avoid packing on more…I have actually lost weight every week but 1 where I gained .2 of a pound! I am soooooo glad I did this or else I would be at least 10 pounds heavier at this point. Grapes and watermelon have been my study buddy all summer 🙂

    And dry eyes are my biggest problem from this screen!

    I had eye twitches too until I got glasses with glare protection. I have 20-20ish vision but my glasses have a slight prescription and made all the difference on my eyes.

    @Jeff,

    I'm game, too! I'm carrying 8 extra pounds. Boo.

    Thanks for the tip on the eye twitches. My glasses are for distance, but they have glare protection, so I may put them on and just sit back from the monitor a bit.

    Count me in on the weight loss thread. Before I started my masters I lost over 100 lbs and was working for weight watchers part time. But between school, kids, CPA, and trying to renovate a 200 year old house, I've gained 40 back 🙁

    I recently started working out lightly and I recorded my notes and play them while I walk. This was helpful because I didn't feel guilty about not sitting at a desk. I also have my Roger lectures online. Interesting enough it surprised me how much I had missed because I was forced to listen and not to be distracted by visual stimuli or disturbance. Besides by that time I had already seen the video and could visualize it in my head. Multitasking. This of course does not replace studying but gives you a little flexibility. I also try this at work at lunch time. Why? Because you know that when you are at work they still want to interrupt you. So, if your not at you're desk, they can't. You can be you're own Peter what's his face. Record some practice questions with a pause, then answer it. Listen to you're own voice while you take a walk at lunch.

    Hope this helps.

    Next I will post brain foods.

    I cant wait for this to be over.

    My eyes became extremely irritated, but I didn't want to take the time from studying to go see my opthamologist so I put up with it for weeks. I wore my contacts as little as possible but couldn't entirely substitute glasses because the prescription's out of date. It got so bad that I finally had to go see the doctor (with BEC notes in hand, of course). I told him that I thought the problem was eyestrain from reading small print and staring at the computer screen all day, but I don't think he believed how many hours a days I spent like this. He decided that the cause was an allergic reaction to preservatives in my contact solution and gave me steroid drops which provided instant relief and a sample of a different solution. I used the solution but didn't bother to buy more of it when it ran out. Amazingly, all my eye problems disappeared within 3 or 4 days of finishing my last exam and haven't recurred since.

    I'm now working on losing the 12 pounds I gained when studying.- like yankeeaccountant, my study food of choice is chocolate. I've been making slow progress but had a setback the other night — husband's business dinner at a great restaurant with cheesecake (my other weakness) on the dessert menu.
