For those of you that have worked in public accounting for a while, I was wondering how easy (or difficult) it is to go from one company to another after being a few years in the public accounting sector. I was wondering since I recently began working at a national firm (Top 20) and even though I am happy working there I was thinking a few years down the road to move to a big4 to specialize in a specific area within tax.

I recently spoke to an individual that has been in the field for over 10 years and she told me that once you are in, as long as you network, it is not that difficult to move from one firm to another. Is this true?
