Should I Add CPA to my Email Signature? - Page 2

I have my letter from the state and the state online license verification officially has my license as being issued 3/28/2014 (I guess it takes a while to get the actual certificate).

I neither work in public accounting nor have I ever. I got my required experience as a revenue auditor for the state and I currently work as a financial analyst for a school district (which involves doing many things I studied while taking the FAR exam).

The other CPAs in my office have CPA in their email signature and I know at least one of them did work in public accounting for a couple years. I guess I feel weird using the designation since I don’t work in public accounting. Is this silly? Should I go ahead and add it?

    Thanks!

    FAR - 85
    AUD - 86
    BEC - 84
    REG - 88

Since rig5150 works for the government (yes, schools are part of govt), I would add the signature.

I am in finance and I won't add it to my work signature when I get it, but I will to my LinkedIn account.

I'm in Asset/Liability Management and will definitely be adding it to my sig. Then again, my supervisor, as well as her supervisor are both active CPA's and use it in their sigs 😉

Who cares if the rest of them did it or not! You earned those letters so use them! Be proud. As soon as I saw my license number, I was on the phone with the state board asking them whether or not I could use my nickname in my signature if I put CPA after my last name. They said go ahead. So I did!!!
