    How would you define a “senior” regarding experience? At least 2 years of experience? Or 3 years? (In public)

    Our senior level was four to six years.

    Probably depends on firm, but my firm is pretty much the same as @mecrushya. Big firms are probably around 2-3 I'd guess

    Would the employer determine this?

    I.e., we promote staff accountants to senior accountants “officially”…

    Seniors BTW can do any of the work with basically no supervision and they do high quality work that basically needs no changes.
