Hey guys, I have a phone interview today with two of their hiring managers about a Tax Accounting position. The HR rep told me they were going to ask me accounting questions to test my knowledge. Has anyone interviewed with them for any accounting/finance positions? It helps me that I’m studying for FAR if they were to ask me any JE or financial ratios.

Not real, they will ask you general questions to see your understanding of accounting. No one will ask you for inventory turnover ratio, or how do you calculate provision tax.

Most like you will go and work with their tax department, and do all kind of Taxes from International tax to sales and use tax. Just relax this will be easy for you.

Thanks for the input iddyrashy! I looked online and a candidate was asked once to name all the ratios they could mention. Thats why I got kinda nervous.

I work for Cameron (similar to Schlumberger) and I've never heard of accounting knowledge being quizzed in an interview. That being said, would definitely still prepare for anything.

Hey guys just to update you, I passed the phone interview and im flying to houston on thursday for a face to face meeting with the division manager. Wish me luck! and btw they did ask me accounting questions and JE's
