    Hello All,

I have just finished all 4 parts and am looking at relocating to Jacksonville, FL.

I have 4 years of public accounting experience in taxation and will hopefully be moving to a small CPA firm (roughly 30 – 35 employees).

The dreaded Salary question has been a hard one to research and especially since I am coming from the DC area…it looks like I will have to take a cut even after the CPA.

Is anyone in the Jacksonville FL area that can shed some light?

Is $70,000 pushing it? I recently interviewed and the lady seemed to go silent after hearing that amount. I did indicate I look at the WHOLE benefit package so it is up ffor some negotiation after her lack of response.

    BEC - PASS JULY 2014
    FAR - PASS DEC 2014
    AUD - PASS FEB 2015
    REG - PASS MAY 2015

One of the sites like roberthalf.com or linkdin.com has a salary by region app as I recall. I live in Florida moving from Ca and it seems unless your in Miami or Orlando (even there) you gonna see a big discount like 15% from what a job pays in some other states vs what they'll typically pay here in Florida ( aside from international corps, national corporations and perhaps the medical field, fincl trading, ect..). But of course the standard of living is much lower here; you can buy a house here using your american express card probably since houses are so cheap in some places -Jacksonville definately included in the cheap housing market category. Its almost a wash from that point of view. However, Im not sure know about Public accounting salaries per se.
