Hello everyone. I currently work in the DC market in Public Accounting and am planning to transfer to Colorado. Does any know anything about this market? What are some pros and cons of working in this market? Thanks for your responses in advance.

I have been trying to get a job in Denver for the past 5 months. It is a really tough market so I would appreciate feedback as well.

I currently work in Denver. Experience is a big factor in the market right now. How many years have you worked in public accounting and do you work for a regional or big 4 firm?

@Audrey: I have 1.5 years of experience and I work for one of the Big 4. Do you know some advantages and disadvantages in working in the Greater Denver area?

I've only worked in Denver since college so I can't really give a good comparison to other cities. People in Denver value their time outdoors year round so work/life balance tends to be more flexible than other cities. If you stay in Big 4 this will exclude busy season of course. The only downside about transferring is we might not have a lot of clients in your area of interest. All Big 4 firms are located downtown Denver which is a great area to live and go out.
