Did you take the estimate then go to the end of the pdf to adjust by location? I found them to be fairly accurate within a range.

I just checked and it looks like on p 25, SD is weighted 84% of the salary listed in the guide, hope that helps!

I don't think it's very accurate. I work Big4, get paid a little over 50k and the Robert Half salary calculator has me at 85K.

@Mla11692, I was talking about the salary calculator, where you can input your location, industry, experience level etc. and it will give you an estimated range.

I always thought it was fairly accurate, but as always – it depends!

@Bluetoothray – have you considered that maybe you're being underpaid?

I can tell you, for me at least, it's not very accurate. On the low end, it's $30,000 more than I'm currently paid. Maybe if I bring this to PwC they'll match the difference? Seems like a legitimate argument. 😀

Apparently the Robert Half numbers include contract, consulting and temporary help, which are naturally paid at a higher rate (because they will include benefits and/or the employer portion of the employment taxes normally paid on your behalf by the company.) My employer tries to keep us right inside the range at the lower end, which seems pretty fair. If you are grossly under the range, you might want to do some benchmarking in your area and see if there is room for negotiating.
