Ok I paid a company to make me a resume, and they did, and it’s fantastic! Except it says I can do all sorts of things in the accounting field that I have never done before. Tax preparation, I did do VITA in 2007 so I figure that’s ok.

But financial statement preparation, other things like that, I have only done in the context of the CPA exam (and school). Is it ok to list those things on a resume if I’ve never done them in a job environment? I’m really confused about this. Don’t want to make it sound like I fell off the turnip truck and have never used a 10-key before, but I don’t want to get to the interview and have them read my resume, and then I have to say, “About that….”

If the resume clearly states I have no accounting experience and am looking for an entry-level job, is it understood that my Skills are pretty much all academic? Help!!

You guys have helped a lot. I've gone ahead and made up my own resume in my own words and I'll pass it on to get prettied and formatted up, and I'm just leaving out the Skills altogether. Or maybe I'll just send it out as-is. Sort of an expensive mistake to make but it's certainly clarified for me which direction I do *not* want to go. Thanks again 🙂
