Hello all,

I’ve been seeing a lot of NFP jobs posted lately–I live on Long Island, NY.

My only exposure to it has been from FAR. I also don’t have any experience as an accountant. I have compiled Financial Statements here and there with the IRS to establish settlement terms and various schedules C and D with VITA. I have other transferable skills but I digress.

I actually have an interview next Wednesday–April 19–at a nonprofit. But I would like to review some of the basics before then.

I don’t trust my textbook from school and I fear my CPA review notes might not go far enough. To get through FAR, I mainly focused on how to categorize revenue and expense. Nothing beyond a basic understanding.

My question is…Does anyone know of any free or low-cost materials that covers fund accounting, Financial Statements, etc for NFP to prepare for the interview (and hopefully the job as a guide)?

Perhaps those in that niche can provide some pointers here as well.
