How did you know you were ready for a promotion? I have a few job interviews lined up for Senior level accounting positions (in industry). Right now I am at staff level in industry and have been for 3 years since graduating. I just finished up my CPA last summer and got licensed in September.

Right now for me,I think I am ready for the opportunity for growth and to challenge myself further. I am trying to figure out how best to explain in interviews that I am ready for more responsibility and am capable of the position even though I only have 3 years experience.

It's really going to depend on the company (both its size and its culture). At mine, it would be nearly impossible. If you can stomach a stint in Big 4, I would go do that, then you could come back to industry in a management job. But having the CPA might get you a senior role in a smaller company.
