I accepted a offer at a local cpa firm but have received a call for a second interview at a F500 company with more pay, better beneifts, better training, and more career development and growth in the future. If I was to leave the local firm after 1 week what are possible consequences to my career. Also has anyone done this before what is the best way to do this.

No consequences really. Leave it off your resume. I quit a Big 4 job after a month cause I hated it. Now I work at another Big 4, and have yet to face any consequences. Make sure you get the offer first. Give two weeks no matter what…don't make it a habit.

You will probably burn that bridge. Other then that I don't think there are any consequences. I agree make sure you have an offer and leave it off your resume

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I might be quitting my job after only three months (hopefully) to go back to public accounting- it's the way of the workforce. You have no commitment to the place you're at right now just as if they had to let you go, they don't have a commitment to you. You have to do what's best for you. Definitely leave it off your resume but go for the other job

I disagree about giving two weeks tho. If you've been there for a week why would you give two weeks notice? That's for wrapping things up that you were working on and all that- you probably won't have anything to wrap up and chances are if you say you're giving two weeks notice, they'll tell you to leave that day. Just make whatever day you give your notice, your last day

I didn't give my two weeks when I quit 🙂 I was just trying to do the right thing since “ricoswave23” sounds young.

Two weeks won't mean a thing – you won't be eligible for rehire…
