    Hi Everyone,

Recently I applied to a CPA firm that focuses mainly on Public Audit. My question I guess is if I start my career in Public Audit and look to possibly move to the private side would it be difficult/create high barriers of entry? If anybody has experience in either side I’m curious to know or if there is another thread discussing this that I didn’t see please post a link. I find both sides interesting but I guess Public would be beneficial while I study for the CPA exam since the hours are more regulated than in private.

    Thanks again,

    MK

It sucks to study while working in public. You will have no life. The experience is great and will help you in some parts of the exam. I did 3 years in public and am in internal audit now. I'm thinking of going back to public after I pass all 4 exams. Local and regional firms offer a better experience IMO.
