Wow, been a long time since I’ve posted on here (Hi Jeff!!) but figured y’all were the best people to ask. I have 6 busy seasons at largest regional firm in my area in audit, left in May 17 to do industry but my position ended up being clerk level (title was senior accountant) so I started job search and have received a job offer to be an accounting manager for venture capital funds. I would be doing the back office. I’d have 2 other accounting managers doing the same thing (both came from big 4) and then there’s 2 staff accountants and a clerk below me. Is this a good career move for me? I started googling and it sounds like this could be a dead-end career path? There’s very low turnover at the company which I thought was a good sign but now I’m wondering if it’s because they can’t find another job outside of funds? Any insight is greatly appreciated!

IMO, fund accounting management will help you get NFP or Gov't jobs in the future. But the private fund manager may be paid more than who work for NFP or Gov't
