For all of you in public accounting, what % was your first year raise? It would also be helpful to hear how your evaluations went to compare.

    Thanks!

    B - (08/29/2013) Passed
    A - (07/02/2013) Passed
    R - (10/17/2013) 73 - Rematch
    F - (05/29/2013) Passed

It was 8 years ago… But I started in June or July and I got a 10% raise at YE, I was pretty happy with that. I have to say after that no other raise has compared, lol. Also my starting salary was on the lower end so they were bringing me up to a more average salary. My evaluation went well, they were happy with me. I hadn't passed any parts of the CPA exam but I was “working on it.” Haha, needless to say I got a little sidetracked at some point after that.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

I just received a “CPI raise” effective 7/1/13. We just had our evaluations, and they thought my actual technical skills “exceeds expectations” while my shy, timid personality “needs improvement” (they want me to become more outgoing). My CPI raise was 3.5%. I haven't had a promotion yet, and I've been a staff accountant since January. Not sure if this is what you're looking for…

    REG (8/7/12) 77
    FAR (10/4/12) 70 Retake 5/25/13 84!!!!!!!!!
    AUD (11/2/12) 78
    BEC (11/30/12) 82

Started in January. Passed FAR last month with a 95, no masters, just a BS in Finance and BBA in accounting. Received a $1,500 raise, which is just shy of 3%. My evaluation is tomorrow so we'll see what they say but all I have heard has been good so far.

I've been here a little under a year and got a $1/hr raise…at a miniscule firm, 2-3 people depending on the season. I'd be embarrassed to tell you what that made my hourly rate be. 😐 There's no official 1 year review process here, so I expect that's all my boss has planned till next tax season, but I also plan to discuss pay between now and then – he just doesn't know it. 😉

First year raise at a Big 4 firm in 2012 in the Southeast was 4% despite the fact that revenues increased and the previous year's raises were nearly 50% larger.

That's Big 4 for you. No bonus since this firm doesn't pay bonuses until after first year as senior.

Top 15 Firm 1996-1999: Received between 12-15% every year

Small, local Firm 1999-Current: Receiving between 7-9% every year

Plus, my current Firm is HOURLY which totally rocks when we are called upon to work loooooooooooooooong hours.

    AUD - 93
    BEC - 80
    REG - 86
    FAR - 83

Zero. I had the lovely opportunity of starting my job right as the economy crashed. No one in the firm got a raise that year and it has screwed me since. There are people a year below me that are making more than me because of it.

1st year raise at big 4 for me was 4.5% with a “2” rating (exceeds expectations). Dunno about this year yet…still anxiously waiting, but got promoted to senior and a “1” rating (top performer), so hoping it's >10%
