I started as a Tax Associate at a ~150 employee one-office firm 45 days ago and didn't really know what to expect. My firm specializes in the industry I had been working for 2 years since I graduated and does tax, audit, and consulting work. I chose this firm over larger national offer because of the industry specialization and company culture.

There's been a steep learning curve here as we were basically given one practice return with little instruction and then thrown right into it. Luckily, there hasn't been much work early in busy season, so I've had the opportunity to take my time with the returns I'm assigned and learn what I'm actually doing. Other staff and supervisors are very generous with their time and love to share their knowledge and experience to help everyone grow together. I'll be curious to hear about others' experience as well.
