    Hello,

My question is, has anyone got their company to pay for their CPA exam fees and study materials/courses when their company is not an accounting company or the department they’re working in is not an accounting department?

    I’d really appreciate your input.

What's the big deal? If it's a small bank and you have daily interaction with him/her, why don't just tell your boss the plan and ask if they'll pay? It's a pretty straightforward question and I doubt you'll be able to finagle your way into any $$$.

Keep in mind, when you pass all 4 exams and get a job in accounting, most companies will compensate you for test fees and some will cover the actual review classes/materials, also.

@jkey57, I was just curious if it's the norm for companies to pay for certifications that are not directly related to what they do. I know it's not hard to ask a straightforward question, but just thought it'd be better if the idea was presented better.

    Thanks for your response though.
