    Hello fellow Ninja’s,

I hope you all’s well! People who are working – the tax season entering the last couple laps of busy season, and audit folks trying to slow down a bit.

    My brief background:

Have a public accounting exp in Audit field of 2 different big4’s for 20 months. Have been out of work for last 6 mos, and barely got this onsite interview for a vehicle rental company. The role title is Internal Reporting Analyst. This role is mostly dealing with the following things:

    1. Preparing monthly consolidation analysis.

    2. Preparing CTA, and FX analysis

    3. Recording topsided JE’s, and prepare elimination entries and other consolidation adjustments for the preparation of SEC filings.

I needed some guidance on what type of questions I can ask my interviewer that stands out. I have few questions, but that are common. Any guidance or suggestions will be really helpful. Thanks in advance everyone for your time and help!

If you are interviewing with your potential boss or manager, some of the best questions to ask are centered around him/her. Something like why did they chose that career, what do they like about it, and what is the most challenging aspect of their job and day to day life. I found that interviewers will appreciate it very much if you show an interest in them as a person.

At my last job interview one of the partners told me nobody has asked him those questions before – I had a job offer the next day, even though HR initially told me it will take them about one week to make a decision.

    Good luck!

I was advised by a recruiter once to ask this question “If you could pick just one thing that I need to hit the ground running with from day 1, what would that one thing be?” Got me the job I currently have.

This one got my fiance her current role as Assistant Controller. “Do you have any hesitations about my qualifications?” It's a very bold question so be able to back yourself up. Also, it's probably best to use only if you feel the interview is going really well. Just make sure and come across as confident in your ability and not cocky or arrogant.
