My GPA is a 3.0 and I can get it up to a 3.2, and if were to get all A’s, then a 3.4. But that is not going to happen. (ILL TRY)

On top of that I have 3 W’s and 3 F’s.

My question is, is it possible for me to get a position with a regional firm? I know funny of me asking.

Well, as far as experience goes, I did a program under IRS called VITA. I was site manager and did taxes.

I also might get this accounting internship this summer.

Is it possible or will employer reject me?

The reason my GPA is low is not because I have trouble with my classes but I did not study properly.

I don't think your GPA is that bad… I think the key will be your enthusiasm to get recruited out of school, then once you are in, have work experience, your GPA matters less and less. I graduated with a 3.2 in '05 and worked for a regional firm for 3 years. Now my GPA is ancient history. I know there were people I graduated with that had lower GPA's and at least one guy went to a Big 4, just based on his personality and enthusiasm.

but When they see my transcript, they will be like, next !!!. the reason I got these grades is not because I'm dumb but because I did not study and now I regret it.

also, in the world of CPA, is it possible to work your way up? for example, first year small CPA firm, then go to a regional firm, maybe then big 4 or fortune 500 company.

I graduated with a 3.2 for my bachelors (accounting 3.7) and got no looks from big 4 firms. I got an internship with a top 10 firm though and made sure to work hard during my masters to get a high GPA. With the combo of passed CPA exams, internship, and a high masters GPA 3.8, I was able to sign with a big 4 firm to start this fall.

I wouldn't worry too much about your GPA. I graduated with a 3.1 GPA and I'm not sweating because I've successfully passed all 4 CPA exams. My door is wide open now. Like I don't think CPA firms will care too much about what grade you got in your critical gender studies class back in freshman year more than if you passed your BEC exam yet. So yeah don't feel down and keep trying. Networking is of course always the best course of action. Going after your CPA is another. And you don't have to feel like you have to start off in some sort of big firm. I have heard a lot of good things about working in smaller CPA firms. You get to know the partners directly instead of just listening to your supervisors.
