I am just curious, what is your opinion on connecting with people on LinkedIn that you don’t know? I am going to be looking for a new job here soon after I pass my last exam, and have been putting out some feelers, strengthening my LinkenIn profile and network, etc. I would like to get a tax position at one of the regional CPA firms in my area. Would it be appropriate to connect with the recruiters of these firms?

So, after I sent the connect request to the CPA firm recruiter yesterday, I sent him a follow up email to introduce myself. He emailed me back right away and asked for my resume! Yea!

Recruiters that you don't know: yes, no problem. They use linkedin to recruit.

Random people: no, unless you want to specifically reach out to them.
