Does anyone have recommendations for accounting reference material on the job?

Do you use text books?, CPA exam study materials? FASB or other online subscriptions, Google, message boards, personal network?

I use some combination of all of these but am curious what other people use once they are in the work place and need to refresh/research an unusual transaction.

Honestly, I Google it. If I am lucky, Google books pulls up intermediate or advanced accounting textbooks as one of the results and the link will take me to the specific page of the book online. If the topic is more complicated, I look at other results and pick the most reputable. Also, my local CPA chapter has a resource center online.

Honestly, Google. Search for the relevant accounting standard and 9/10 times it will show up in a result from the FASB website.

If you search directly via the FASB website, you need a paid subscription to access the full FASB standards (there is a free academic version, but its print capabilities are very lacking). If you search via Google, the responsive links refer to pages that are beyond the paywall, so you can get almost any FASB standard for free.
