I recently accepted a position w a CPA firm (non big 4) but benefits/bonuses were the same. Just wondering about the 5K bonus for passing the CPA exam in the first year- does that bonus increase if you do not use becker materials provided by the CPA firm? Thanks.

That would be firm specific… You should talk to HR.

Assuming your firm is the same as my firm (big 4), then no. The 5k bonus is purely a bonus once you pass the entire exam. The bonus won't increase, but your taxable income will decrease (from the materials that your firm did not buy for you), thus you will actually get to keep more of your bonus after withholding.

    BEC 86 (08/30/11)
    FAR 84 (10/13/11)
    REG 88 (11/08/11)
    AUD 86 (11/29/11)
