This might be a rant but it has become neccesary for me to advise some of the forum members here who thinks working at a big 4 is a guarantee for success. Life is actually how you make it and I don’t think tagging your success to a big 4 is relevant in present day corporate America.

I have seen lots of people who started or have been with smaller firms and have become very successful.

This is a country of vast opportunities and your pedigree and attitude to work is what will define you as a successful person.

Hyping big 4s everyday freaks me out a little bit but I guess every opinion matters!

That is true but there are far more opportunities available for big 4 alumni. I've not worked for a big 4 but I've got over 20 years and still get rejected from opportunities because I lack big 4 experience.

It's a lot like telling people you don't need a degree to make 6 figures. It is absolutely true but far more challenging.
