    Hi all,

I just started working as an Audit Associate at a large firm beginning in August. I am curious to hear some insight on what people believe the most important skills and experience you learn from being an 1st/2nd year associate at a large public firm (B4, GT, BDO, etc.) Lets say in 2-3 years someone decides that auditing is not for them and wants to jump to a financial analyst role or similar position. What are the skill-sets that companies see in public accountants that translates to an analyst role? I’m asking because I enjoy my job, although it is a little overwhelming starting out, but I’m not sure I see myself staying in public for the long-term (5 years or more). So I was interested in hearing what people thought were the most important experiences and take-aways they can learn from beginning in public accounting to use/apply to your future career.
