What’s the lowest a CPA will make his first year (on average) after he becomes licensed? I.e., the bottom 10% of first-year CPAs.

    Hey letsgetthisoverwith(and others),

I am living in San Francisco, have the CPA 1 year work experience requirement, and quit my retail job to study for the CPA exam. You have any theories on whether I will have trouble finding work with a CPA license in SF. I have been in retail for 5 years :O

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

^What's your one year of experience in? What kind of job are you shooting for?

The only hard part I would imagine is it being kinda lopsided being a CPA and having only 1-year of experience. That said, plenty of early level accounting positions out there that want 1-2 years of experience. Thoughts on going into public?

i would say $0 has to be the lowest

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!
