@CPAawesomeCA If you don't have anything positive to say I think you shouldn't say anything at all. Clearly this is an intelligent individual because he was able to pass all parts of the CPA exams – regardless of how many times etc., he may have had to sit them. We all know that this journey takes persistence, sacrifice and competence to be successful.
A number of factors affect your performance on the job however; relationship with coworkers, seniors/supervisors, the culture, continuous professional development specific to your job functions.
At the end of the day, after coming this far in accounting – unless you TRULY HATE the environment I would not quit. I would however, have a candid conversation with your supervisor who is currently firing you – ask about your weak areas, ask him what he observed you did wrong, and attentively listen and take note of it. Speak to your coworkers ask them how you could have added more value in your past position – how they felt you could have been of more help.
Next, as you start your job search and even before address all the deficiencies mentioned – take online programs – Lynda, CPE courses where you are deficient etc., if you don't get a job immediately I would definitely try volunteering to see if I could learn under someone more patient and willing to promote development. At the end of the day, whether a senior likes you or not if you are producing excellent results your work will speak for itself. So keep growing, keep pushing and address your weak areas.
