Do you all use Linkedin?
I have a profile picture, 3 jobs with 3-4 bullet points each, 3 groups, 3 schools with 3-4 activities each and a small note about honors for all of them. I think it looks nice & professional, but then I look at other people’s profiles, my classmates profiles, and future co-worker’s profiles, and their’s tend to be much more bare bones.
Am I gonna be thought of as a wierdo who’s trying too hard (AKA: has obviously spent more time on Linkedin than others)? or am I ahead of the curve? I’m leaning towards the later.
I have a job lined up so I’m just gonna be using Linkedin for networking purposes.
I purposely avoided adding course titles, skills, hobbies & scholarships/awards, and my previous retail & food service jobs because of this. Although once I actually get some real technical accounting experience, I’ll probably eventually create the skills & summary section. Maybe having a line item (Cum Lude/Presidents honor roll…etc) under each of my schools is too much as that doesn’t really matter anymore?Maybe I’ll remove that…
