How bad does it look if you resign from your job in less than a year? I feel miserable in my current position.

I prefer not to study at work bc that may cause a CPAExam brain overload….

@JQA02169 – do you ever have downtime? I see why not study if you have NO billable work to do. Do they want you to pass? Tell them why dont you study if there is no work…. it will help them in the long run for your to pass. I hope you get the new job though! Seriusly I was in your shoes last year.

@CPATerminator you might miss those boring days if you join public LOL

Yes, I have lots of down time. I don't think my employer cares at all if I pass the CPA exam or develop myself in anyway. He just wants someone to do the job with no mistakes and minimal interactions with him.

My coworker has no friends or family, comes in at noon and stays until late at night, spends the day eating bologna and reading the internet. She has been doing the same exact thing for years, has no incentive to do more or learn anything new. I believe my employer likes it that way bc he doesn't have to worry she'll demand more money/benefits or leave for better opportunities.

I used to try to be friendly with this coworker until she waved a knife in my face. I had asked her what she was eating and she pointed her knife at me and shouted that I was never to bother her while she was eating. I thought she was weird/annoying but kind of funny at first but that was the last straw for me. I do not interact with her at all anymore. I just want to go to a firm with somewhat sociable normal people. This place is too weird for me.

If you quit your current job before you have a second job lined up, it is too soon.

Hi, I'm not quitting my job until I get something else lined up. I have an interview this week so we'll see what happens.

If I don't get this position, I plan on concentrating (finally) on passing the CPA exam, doing another tax season here and then looking for a better opportunity next year.
