    Dear another71,

I hope all of you are doing well today. How do you land a public accounting job out of school? They seem to heavily recruit from university campuses, and at that time, I had no interest to work in public accounting so I didn’t bother to pursue them. After obtaining my B.S. in accounting, I had been hitting walls as far as job search and I was only able to find temporary assignments. So, is it still possible to land a job at those firms? If so, how?

    Regards,

    johnchua9963

Your LinkedIn profile will appear incomplete if you have no work experience on there. Chances are, if you reach out to a recruiter, they will skim your profile before bothering to open your resume. Maybe there is a way so hide your profile from public search, so only the recruiters you reach out to will be able to see it?

That said, most everyone I know has a LinkedIn profile, whether they are job hunting or not, as its a great way to keep track of professional relationships. So having a profile doesn't necessarily suggest you are job hunting, creating a LinkedIn might lol.

I am sort of old school and maybe behind time when it comes to Facebook, LinkedIn, twitter, etc. I personally don't like making my personal information public, including my picture. I would like to gain audit experience. I have enough experience for the license but I don't have a CPA to sign to complete audits according to my state, so how can i use LinkedIn to reach a firm to either volunteer or intern on an audit. I am still in the process of taking the exam ( have not passed any part yet).

or do I need to start a new post. don't want to take away from henryv.
