Hi everyone,
Been awhile since I’ve been on the forum. Just wanted to bounce an idea off of you all. I’m thinking about joining another state CPA society besides my own. I would like to relocate in a few years and I think the networking opportunities provided by another state society would benefit me. I have had no luck in the public accounting recruitment process in the past Passed CPA first try, 4.0 GPA, Masters degree, etc. Any input would be appreciated!

I am not sure how you will benefit from joining a society outside your current location unless you are close enough to that state to go to their events. Otherwise you are just paying them for something you won’t be using.

As far as getting a job goes, how long have you been out of school and what have you been doing since you graduated? Recruiting season is now and you should utilize every resource you have available, including your state’s CPA society and any educational institution you went to.
