I want to work in public and big 4, thats the dream. I have no accounting experience and I never had an internship (worked at a bank as a teller most of my college life). I had an good GPA at 3.76 from the college I went to and had a 3.25 from my community college. I mainly use the 3.76 because thats when I started all my accounting work and the community college is irrelevant(still have it on my resume though). I try to make my GPA, Business honor society, getting invited to a state society event where only 100 students were allowed, and taking a part of the CPA exam and passing it already a selling point. Most of these recruiters say I have an excellent GPA but I never get to the next round of hiring and I think its because of the lack of experience and the locations I am applying to (live in NJ and I applied all across the country). Ive had talks with KPMG (Stamford office 3 weeks ago and a national recruiter just contacted me earlier this week) and BDO(just got denied for Columbus,OH). So idk what else to do. I also tell these people that I expect to be done by Dec 2015 and want to work this busy season. I know I have the ability and work ethic to work in these types of environment but is there something else I could be doing?
