Hello All,

I am new and just took FAR last week. I have a job but there is no room for advance here and once I pass all the tests I need to leave and work under a CPA. Tax season is also coming up and I feel like firms in Southern California will be hiring, should I try to get into those firms or wait it out at my current job until I pass all the exams. I can also go back and get more units since in California you can sit with 120 units. Someone please give me some good advice. Thanks.

If you have the time to study with your current job, at least, wait until you are done with 3 of the 4 exams. If you start with a firm now, your work load for the upcoming months will compete with your availability to study…. I am in the same position, waiting to pass all the exams, get my license under VA rules, and the try to find another job in FL under the supervision of a CPA to then transfer the license.

I think that you have 3 years to comply with the rules after passing all exams, confirm with your BOA in CA.
