I graduated from UCSD on June, 2012 and approved from CBA on August. I am starting FAR on Nov, but I don’t have any accounting experience. I know that the old requirement will be expired on Jan, 2014 so that I have to pass all 4 sections and get 1 year experience before Dec, 2013. How should I choose to find the job or pass exam first?

    Thank you

I'm confused here. Once you pass all four sections of the exam you won't lose credit for it…. period. That should be independent of your state experience requirement. Personally I recommend finding a job first, because most accounting jobs will reimburse you for exam fees and review courses. And you can get your experience concurrently while studying.

    BEC - 90 PASSED
    FAR - 84 PASSED
    AUD - 93 PASSED
    REG - 84 PASSED

    I DID IT!!!!

Very few people have the luxury of choosing between a job and the exam, most work while studying for the exam. The job market isn't as strong as it could be so I would (personally) be looking for a job while beginning to study for the exam.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Massachusetts CPA (non reporting) since 3/12.

You can probably do both at the same time. I would get FAR and REG out of the way before hardcore looking for a job. I would've loved not having to work and just focus on studying for any of those two sections.

    Class of 2012
