Job Offer being Revoked?

    I am really freaking out. I am a big 4 intern this summer who has received a job offer for the summer/fall of 2014. I recently got an open container ticket in NYC and was looking to see if anyone with experience in HR for the big 4 knew if this was enough grounds to revoke my job offer.

    Will this also affect my ability to sit for the CPA exam this spring?

    Any experienced opinions would be great.

    I don't know about your Big 4 offer, but it won't affect you sitting for the exam. At least as far as I know, but I'm in CA.

    OMG you'll never work as an accountant again! Lol jk. Isn't that just like a $25 fine? I don't think it's even a misdemeanor-level offense; I doubt it goes on your criminal record or if you would even have to show up at court (TINLA IANAL etc). As for hiring, were it up to me the violation would be a non-issue.

    I had a dwi and I got in at big 4. don't worry.

    Superwario, how did you disclose it? What happened when the firm discovered it?

    OP, I know of people in Big 4 that had dui and their offer wasn't revoked.

    Before your start date they'll do another background check (at least my firm did), Just disclose it, let them know it was a mistake that won't be repeated.

    exactly what mayo said. give full disclosure, because it will most likely pop up on your background check anyway. You want them to hear it from you first. I told the hr rep in the interview and she really appreciated my honesty and said it wasnt a big deal. I received an offer 2 days later.

    I got the same ticket leaving the red lion in greenich village before I interviewed. Just pay the 25 bucks and you will be fine man
