Is it better to apply to public accounting firms before tax season or after?

    Are there more openings for assurance positions at the big 4 and mid-tier firms before tax season or after tax season. I want to move closer to home and wasn’t sure when to apply. I currently work at a small firm (3 CPAs and I) and wanted to move to a larger firm near my family. Thanks for the help in advance!
