The title pretty much. Can having a simple battery conviction on your record keep you from becoming a cpa? Here are some other relevant facts:

    -late 20s
-pretty much a lowsy student my whole life
-attempted to pass cpa exam but gave up (passed a couple sections but got worn down and ran out of a mean to pay for it)
-arrest was NOT a dumb, distant mistake from youth, was fairly recent
    -otherwise clean history

This incident pretty much shocked me into reevaluating my life including trying (again) to get into a proper career but I’m not even sure if I have a chance at this point. I figured by the time I pass (if that is) I would be pretty close to getting my record sealed.

Until I became a dad I was about as irresponsible as a person can be and live to tell about it. I had a DWI from my early years and it didn't stop me from being approved. You will likely be okay but you might have to apply to know for sure?

It seems like you applied and were approved before the incident. Can't you just call and see if they'll review your situation? I think people with certain felonies still get approved; just be completely honest and I bet they let you continue.
