    I just have a stupid question….

Is it normal to get an interview with the partners of a firm w/o first meeting with the managers or the senior level staff?

Yes. I've interviewed at three different CPA firms and have never met with the managers or seniors until I was already hired.

Company 1 (smallest company): I first interviewed with the HR person, then the partners. I didn't meet the managers/seniors until my first day at work. Was offered a job.

Company 2 (bigger company): Interviewed with partners only. Was referred by a friend who worked for the company. Ended up getting two interviews, but didn't get the job.

Company 3 (biggest company): Interviewed twice with the HR guy, that's it. Was offered a job.

Yes. At my firm (2 partners, 6 staff) new hires are first interviewed by the partners, the move on to the senior staff.
