    Hi all!

I found a firm that offers flextime but not sure how to bring this up during the interview. I have to get my son to after-school activities so will need the flexibility to either leave work early 2 days a week or work from home two days a week. How do I tactfully bring this up during an interview?

Flex time varies from firm to firm. I would be up front about it, and say you have parental obligations two days a week; that being said, you should also volunteer the fact that you'd be willing to make up those hours during days that you don't have the obligations. I don't think “working from home 2 days a week will cut it”, personally. How early would you have to leave? Is it possible to come in earlier on those days? “Showing face” is pretty darn important, especially during busy season.

    R: 78 (expired), 77
    F: 74, 74, 80

    It's finally freaking over.

Do not bring it up during an interview……..ever. The appropriate time to approach that discussion is when an offer has been made, and you are negotiating it.

Bringing up limitations (like needing flex-time) during the interview can cost you the job. Wait until you get an offer, and bring it up then. If you can't come to an acceptable agreement, decline the offer.

FAR - 73, rematch in early April
    AUD - 5/14
    REG - 8/14
    BEC - 11/14

Definitely wait til after the interview. However, if they do ask, don't lie about it.
