    Hey guys,

I have an interview (possibly) for a parttime job/internship at a CPA firm. The only issue is they specialize in State and Local Tax) incentives and credits, and amend returns and credits in different states, cities, jurisdictions. I do not have any experience with tax!

I was wondering if you could advise what exactly should I focus on, while researching about this topic? I wish to be prepared as I believe this could be the big break I need to work for a CPA firm, while studying for the CPA!

I have the Becker 2014 REG Book too (should I review the material from there), can someone shed light on this matter. I live in GA, just fyi.

You are applying for an internship. All you have to do is show and demonstrate that:

    1) You have the education and right background to understand the tasks

    2) You have an interest in taxation (i.e. – why you want to work in tax, what got you interested in this field, etc)

    3) You have a good work ethic

    4) You are a good team player

    etc etc

As an intern, most likely you will start with data inputs (into the tax software that they are using to prepare tax return), copying, organizing and other simple tasks. No one expects you to be an expert in SALT.

    FAR - 86
    REG - 85
    BEC - 90
    AUD - 84

It's the people that blow the doors off of expectations that do great things.

    REG- (1) 76
    FAR- (2) 64, (5)74, (7)83 (Over achiever!)
    AUD- (3) 70, (4) 75
    BEC- (6) 75
