Hello guys – I am facing a dilemma and need some guidance badly. I’m currently a CPA, and have about 3 years of public accounting experience specifically in auditing. I am looking to venture out and look at different roles and NOT accounting related. Preferably, I would like to do something like a “Sales Operations Manager”. Has anyone in here worked in a Sales Operations role before? How is it? I think a role like that suits me well since I LOVE sales and I want to use my sales side of me. I want to be involved in a role where I can help drive sales. I also love using Microsoft Excel too, which I used heavily in my auditing experience. But, I also have my accounting analytic side of me, so, I don’t mind looking at some numbers and doing some accounting work at my next role as well. I just DON’T want to do auditing only as I’m getting very sick of it. I want to do something more than that. If anyone has any suggestions, it’d be much appreciated! Thank you so much everyone.

Become a Bartender giving tax and accounting advice to lonely single ladies.

Not only will you get to go home with them, but they'll let you check out and verify their assets.😁

I always thought sales was an easy position to get into. There aren't a lot of people with the correct personality for sales and there's always a great need for salespeople. I don't know if you'd have to get actual front-line experience in sales before being considered for a sales management position though. I'm guessing you would.

LMAO, Man I wish we still had a like button for that one Skynet!

My suggestion, get into the sales end of accounting at your firm.
Firms love rainmakers and its the fastest way to get on a partner track.
I'd talk to your current management and express your interest in selling, and see if they can make some moves to put you in a position to utilize and nurture your sales abilities.
Selling and bringing in new clients and work to the firm usually falls on the partners, but they appreciate your interest in that area.
