I am currently in the job market and read “information interviews” are a good idea that might end up in a job offer. There is this company I would love to work for and there is nothing on their website for any accountant position and I would like to know if they have a “tax department” and maybe a open position. I thought “information interviews” were for college students/recent graduates. I graduated about 2 years ago and have 2 years experience with a public firm in tax. What do you guys think?

    Passed all 4 parts exam.

It can't hurt. An informational interview won't necessarily land you a job but it does put your name into the hiring manager's brain. If an opportunity were to come up, you might be one of the first to hear back.

Informational interviews, in my opinion, show that you know you want to work for that particular company and the organization should appreciate that you are willing to wait for a quality opportunity instead of taking any job.
