    If you pass all four parts of the CPA exam, but don’t have the 150 credit. Do you have to take the GMATS or is it wavied if you have all 4 CPA parts passed?

    FAR - May 2015 - 69
    BEC - TBD

    You're not getting around the GMAT at the place I went to grad school. I'm sure it varies though.

    There are many ways to avoid taking the GMAT and spending a lot of money on a masters program to get the 150 credits. One of them is “CLEP credit. You have to do some more research with the word CLEP.

    you can ask the school they will tell you. I know my school does but I didn't clarify if its when all 4 exams are passed or when you have your license.

    The CLEP website seems to indicate there's only 1 accounting course. Is there something I'm missing regarding CLEPs?

    Many of the MST programs waive the GMAT (or GRE) requirement if you have passed the CPA exams. The reason is that if you are a CPA, you are most likely working with taxes already, so taking more courses in the field wouldn't be an issue.

    However, for the more mathematically-geared MS or MBA programs, taking the GMAT (or GRE) is almost always required.

    As cpa8488 said, some schools want you to be a CPA already, whereas some just need you to present your CPA scores in lieu of the GMAT.

    Look at the following as examples:

    St. John's allows you to use CPA results in lieu of GMAT for the MST program, but does not mention this exception for the broader MBA in Taxation degree.

    Florida Atlantic seems to require the GMAT or GRE.

    Pace University requires you to be a CPA (not merely someone who passed the exam, CMA, or someone who passed the bar)

    Wouldn't you be able to take a few courses at a community or junior college? I thought there was a minimum amount of accounting credits, but after that, it doesn't matter?

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's been a while..
