I work as an accountant in a small private corporation.

I am the only employee in the accounting department and I am in charge of

accounting. I would like to land an auditor/tax job in a public accounting firm.

Do you guys think that my current job + RCPA(I am from IL) would help me to get a foot in the door in a public accounting firm?

I know that public accounting firm will offer a job to someone who has public accounting experience over me.

For my current job, I only worked for 9 month. Should I need to work at least 1 year and quit this job or

change jobs as soon as I get an offer from public accounting firm?

Does it look better if I put 1 year experience as an accountant rather than 9 month as an accountant for public accounting job?

    Please give me your opinion.

    Thank you!

Change jobs as soon as you get an offer for the position you want. No need to stay a year if you get the gig you really want sooner.

Ya follow your dream. It looks better if you stay at one place for a year yes, but your life has changed, move forward 🙂
